My heart skipped a beat when you approached ,
My heart racing a million miles an hour ,
I wanted to speak but it was like I was on hold,
You parted my hair ,
And handed me a flower.
Not sure to keep my emotions in check,
I took your hand and held it tight ,
My head rested on your shoulder upon the deck,
I held on to you with all might,
Never wanting the night to end .
Then it was all over the sun had set,
And it was time to go,
A million ways I could have expressed how I felt,
But none was so good.
