There I lay
Bed sheets in disarray
Mimicking my racing thoughts
Overwhelming feelings, tense and fraught
Consumed by worry and fear
Hoping things aren't as bad as they appear
Concerned for family, my friends and the future
I try to face life with a sense of humour
Going to try to go more with the flow
Just accept what happens and try to grow
I have the best friends I have ever had
Plenty of reasons to truly be glad
I have come across a great fork in the road
Making the most of this gift they've bestowed
