Dawn
The night pulls back,
curtains drawn,
A breath of light,
and then it’s gone.
The sky is pale,
a sleepy gray,
Soft colors bloom,
to greet the day.
The stars blink out,
one by one,
The moon fades fast,
the work is done.
A quiet hum,
a bird’s first song,
The world awakens,
gentle, strong.
