A smile on my face when you said goodbye
I closed the door and I didn't know why
I thought you loved me the way I loved you
but I opened my eyes & I had a different view.
Things changed when you stopped loving me
it took me a while, but I wanted to be free
you gave me a kiss before you walked away
I looked in your eyes and had so much to say.
You give me reasons to walk from your love
you walked away when times got tough
I gave you reasons as to why I wouldn't stay
it felt so good knowing that I'm actually okay.
A part of me wished you would kiss me again
though that part of my life would finally end
I closed the door & I just wanted to smirk
you walked away & I stopped doing the work.
