Fair Ladies
( I tried to write my poem below in Welsh Cyhydedd Fer form). It is formed in a couplet two-lined stanzas and each line has 8 syllables.)
Fair Ladies :
When I looked at those piles of leaves,
My eyes saw them as fair ladies;
The leaves were dry with lots of rust,
I was surprised to see what passed;
They had heart-like shapes on the ground,
I walked round and round, round and round;
I could not find a perfect heart,
All looked wounded by a fierce dart;
I thought that I was not so well,
Our good heaven was their bad hell,
Then I learned: "Love means suffering",
None was better but battering .
