She laid down every night wondering
how good of a woman she is
how good of a daughter she needs to be
how good of a wife she needs to be
she laid down thinking of all the ways she could please
she found happiness in other peoples happiness &
could not bear a loved ones sadness
her goal every day
was simply
to please

until one day she was the one crying
she realised no one offered to help
shed been taken for granted
she couldn't process what she felt

you can't just keep giving love
it empties your soul
you need to get some back
or your heart ends up hollow and cold

so once in for all
she decided to love herself
and lift her spirits
by doing what she loves
by putting herself first
by being tough
thats the day she realised
that all she needs
is self love
