Birthed with a glowing flesh
My skin became colour
The colour became race
And race became power and superiority
I am unapologetically Black.

Why offer me blood to quench my thirst
Your continual despisal for me
Has left me feeling blue.

They told me Black is Stain
And White is Purity
well, I'm sorry
I cannot gulp this down my throat.
for the truth is
Black is not evil nor darkness
Black is not sad nor bad
Black is not a curse nor a choice
It is a privilege done me.

Enough of the brutality and animosity
