Yearning Echoes
#YearningEchoes

In the eyes of the world he was my rival,
We were supposed to be fighting at matters so trivial,
We were to be enemies hungry for bloodshed,
To paint each other's body bloody red,

Yet each glance at him made my heart flutter,
In front of him my mind would just become a clutter of emotions,
Love and fondness ran freely while the guilt binded me down,
I craved for his love, his touch yet I knew that meant death,
His smile lit up my world yet burned my soul,

There were some lines not meant to be crossed,
Yet we did, under the twilight's shadow,
Hidden away from prying eyes and expectations,
Where we weren't birth rival, just lovers,
That moments slipped away and so did the days after the night,

Fighting the battle, Doused away the candle of my hope,
Slashing him with my sword tore apart my heart,
Seeing him wounded made my soul bleed,
Still I didn't stop, for I knew the moment under the twilight was already over,
That we were no longer lovers,

And when he fell to the ground, his eyes met mine,
He smiled at me as if mocking me at my fate,
I felt another surge of pain but not from my wounds but at the thought of losing him,
To see life in his eyes fading away,

Another slash and I fell next to him but it didn't hurt,
It felt like breaking my cage and flying away,
And then at the battle ground didn't lay enemies but just two souls in love.
