ODE TO POWER
They say money is the root of all evils
But I say power is the devil itself
Whether political or spiritual
It was never for mortal men
It rids a man of his mortality and peace
For men shall search for power
Men shall rise in power and give themselves titles "Leader, ruler, King, Fuhrer, Emperor"
Then they shall stand like gods amongst men and command their authority
Pride comes before a fall
But power comes before pride
Such was the story of a man, who sought power
He crossed the seven seas and scaled mountains
And when people saw his deeds they gathered and marvelled "what a great man he is"
So he stood on a podium and thought "is it not I they've come to hail"
Then he said "call me your hero"
And the crowd chanted "hail our hero"
But hero wanted more power, so he journeyed through the continents and universe
And when the nations saw his exploits
They gathered and marvelled "what a mighty man he is"
So he sat on a throne and thought "is it not I they've come to serve"
Then he said "call me your king, for I shall rule and dictate over your affairs"
And the nations chanted "long live the king"
But the king wanted more power
So he journeyed to the skies and the underworld
And when the world saw this they gathered and marvelled
"Where on earth is there anyone like him"
So he stood on a mountain, looked up to heaven and shouted "is it not I who tells them what to do and what not to, is it not I they've come to worship am I not god myself"
So he declared "call me king of all...
