The Golden Rose
A golden rose seems too perfect to be true,
Instead, it’s endless hallways and torn insides covered in barricades,
Golden thorns, golden petals, anything to distract from what’s within,
Anyway to hide an immense shadow with light.

Could it be that running in circles chasing the idea of perfect has become too tiring?
What other excuse is there to have layers upon layers of golden armor?
Every fallen petal becomes a seed for new beginnings,
So bring the concept of change back into reality and let the rose wilt.

More roses of similar metallic beauty will appear,
But only if life fits the correct definition,
Instead of picking the prettiest golden rose, choose the wilted one,
Then reality will feel like reality and not a movie.
