Epiphanies in the Misty Forest
In the heart of the woods, where the shadows play,
Where the moon whispers secrets and the stars won't stay,
Michael and Jennifer, hand in hand, took a stroll,
Unaware of the adventure that awaited their soul.
The trees spoke in tongues that the wind did sway,
Their branches twisted, their leaves whispered, "Hey!"
"Who dares to enter our realm so late?"
The couple looked up, their eyes grew so wide with the weight
Of the eerie silence, the darkness so thick,
They could almost feel the forest's heartbeat tick-tock.
"We're just passing through," Michael said with a smile,
"On a quest for light, for a while."
The trees chuckled, their laughter so wild,
They decided to test the two, a riddle compiled:
"What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?"
Jennifer thought, her brain in a whirl,
"The answer, my dear, is a giant antlered world!"
The trees nodded, their leaves rustling in cheer,
And the path grew brighter, the darkness so unfurled.
Onward they went, through the thicket so dense,
Where the wild animals threw in their pence.
A fox with a grin, his fur like a flame,
Asked, "What can bring you back, but never again?"
Michael scratched his head, his mind in a maze,
"Ah, it's your name," he said with a gaze.
The fox winked, "You're clever, I must say,
Now, onward you go, don't you delay."
A bush spoke up, its voice like a croak,
"What starts with 'e', ends with 'e', but only has one letter?"
Jennifer giggled, she knew it was a joke,
"An envelope," she quipped, and the bush erupted in laughter, a quake.
The forest grew denser, the night grew deep,
When a plant with teeth began to creep.
It whispered a riddle, its breath so faint,
"I fly without wings, I sing without a beak."
Jennifer looked at Michael, her eyes so bright,
"The answer,"...
