Petals holding moments just
Out of reach, yet still so near -
Whispers of a bygone year.
Hibiscus blooms in scarlet flames
Guarding secrets, cradling names
Of loves and losses, hopes and dreams
Floating on nostalgia's streams.
Dandelion clocks ready to blow,
Carrying wishes to and fro
On gentle breeze and windswept thought
To places and times dearly sought.
Dahlias dance in twilight's hush
Fragrant with life's tender blush
Of innocence and wonderment
Before the veil of time was rent.
Forget-me-nots like scattered seeds
Sprouting between the heart's deep weeds
Tendrils of blue, alive, unspent
With memories' lingering scent.
Periwinkle, lavender, rose
Each one has a tale it knows
Petals and perfumes softly share
Stories long forgotten there.
Cherry blossoms, delicate, pink
Fluttering on reflection's brink
Ephemerally, sweetly they
Evoke spring's halcyon yesterday.
Garden of memories in flower
Tended by time's faithful power
