A Place
She lived in a world, covered with pain
Where riches and fame become all vain
Vanity upon vanity, what was her gain?
She dared to live, and tried not to leave
Her home for a name, sculpted in shame
For she did believe, she would reach a place

She lived in a world, engulfed in darkness
Enchanted by evil,  and thronged with sadness
Where the power-drunk rich, array in ravening look
And prey the helpless poor, to an unsatisfying hook
High or lowly, Great or small
All will reach a place, the rich and the poor

She lived in a world, caved in delusion
Utter wickedness, and dark colly passions
Hers was a world, perfect for all race
Until greed stepped in and set the pace
Vanity upon vanity! What was her gain?
And out from the deep, I hear her say
"all will reach a place!".

All will reach a place when the breaths are siezed,
When the heart-beat stops, when the sun is gone,
When time freezes and the whole world stills
When the jaunting halts and the cross-roads splits
When the doubts are cleared then the eyes will see
Mouths will open and all will say "this is the place!"
