Today I'll travel far
from where there's comfort
I'll leave behind the city streets

Today I'll travel far
From modern society
No more houses

Today I'll blaze a trail
Into the deep dark woods

All in order to

gaze upon a million little stars
and then I'll finally see Mars

I've traveled day and night
to see these little lights

I've come from far away
and I have no other place to stay

but in this forest of old oak trees
and this meadow filled with bumble bees

now the sun's overhead
and I play amongst the flowers

when daylight starts to vanish
I'll stare at the sunset for hours

and then I'll finally get to see
what has been hidden from me

a million little stars
and that beautiful planet Mars

Now I can roll
through the bright green grass

It feels like some storm inside of me
Has finally passed

And the rain has washed away
Any dirt on my soul

The puddles evaporated
The sun is out to play

Because soon comes dusk
When the light illuminates the world and little sparkles of color

And soon comes dark
When all the specks of light
Shine out for me

A million little stars
And a planet called mars
