Dreamwaves
Sundown;
the luminous aura slips beneath the sea.
I watch as waves fall still
and trace stars across the sable canopy.
As pine wavers and sycamore dances,
moonlight peers through the skeletal branches.
Sundown, my saunter into illusion.
I toss the sea-glass
through a veil of pearly steam
and count the rings
that gather in the ocean of my dreams.
I memorize the breakwall
and sketch the winding pier,
and absorb the spectral melody
from waves I cannot hear.
Sunrise;
the flare of dawn pours over the sea.
I watch as life falls still
and trace clouds across the azure canopy.
