prisoner
I'm a prisoner to my mind.
It holds me hostage all the time.
I'm shackled to my thoughts, they weighed me down.
My body is only a cell, to which I am bound.
I try to break free, I try to escape.
But I fail with every attempt I make.
I don't know my sentence, I impatiently wait.
For the jury to decide, and announce my fate.
Will they give me life? Will they give me death?
Whatever they choose, I will not protest.
