life too fast
I see herds of young, energetic and enthusiastic people.
Some just graduated, some with their teen tails intact.
Readily and happily and willing to sell their life from 9 to 5.
Pride glazed eyes, in their mind they've all figured out life.
They move in masses, hurriedly, frantically in frenzy.
Their days are of 12 hours, months of 15 days sometimes 15and½, years of 182 and ½, sometimes of 183.
They grow old in their 20s and die in their 30s.
They've figured out life.
Their bread's are half baked, meals half cooked.
They look half fed.
They absorb knowledge through their palms.
They sweat less, they smell fresh.
They look fine when they're half dead.
They've figured out life.
They breed like insects, their love vanishes like a flare.
They talk about career, ambition and success.
Never about family, love, and happiness.
They sleep with faces, with eyes and lies and bodies and corpses.
They reject heart and souls, they wake up cold.
In their world seasons don't change.
