Dead Love

When I first met you my heart finally started to beat,
I liked you but something was off and my friends called me delusional,
I thought they were right so I became your girlfriend,
If only I knew then.

You took me on picnics in parks,
Called me the ‘Love of your life’,
Said I love you the first day we met,
I now know you never meant it.

We couldn’t stop seeing each other,
Everybody liked and trusted you and encouraged it,
You had everyone under a spell I could never understand,
I’ll never understand you.

You were the perfect boyfriend,
Too good to be true,
You proposed to me in front of a marching band where we first met,
Little did I know one of the best days ever would soon also be the worst.

You sank your teeth into me,
The second your car pulled up near my house and nobody was awake on the streets around us and nobody was outside,
My mother had to find me dead in front of our house on the road,
You were going to kill her but I stopped you,
I will forever haunt you!
