The cry of the underaged Nigerian teen
Where were they when I burnt the midnight candle?
Were they dead or asleep when I almost got blind with the dim torch light?
Did they know how much effort I put into studying?
After all their children study abroad, spoilt kids of dirty politicians.
I am devastated, without a clue of what life has in store for me.
I have lost all hope in education, hopelessness eating me up from inside.
When will I achieve my dreams?
When my brain has forgotten all learnt or when I'm holding an old lady's stick waiting for death?
All I want is justice and for the government to be reasonable.
For I am a teen; young, ambitious and powerless.
