She Loved Me, She Loves Me Not
She loved me, she loves me not,
Sobbing while drowning his sorrows in another shot,
He gave her everything he got,
But she kept throwing in his face all that he is not.
He would try to give her the moon on a platter,
But sentimental things would not matter,
She developed the ‘keeping up with the Joneses' complex,
‘Cha-ching’ and fancy ‘bling’ are all she respects.

Why can't she realize that money is not all?
I adore her and will always beckon to her love call.
It is ironic how some women pray for a good man,
But then can't appreciate true love if he doesn't fit in her financial plan.
When she met me she knew my circumstances,
We were happy to build together and take our chances,
But the table one day suddenly turned,
When she saw what her peers had and she desperately yearned.

Our love for each other did not matter,
She became blinded with jealousy and listened to her friends’ negative chatter.
I know I am still the man she fell in love with,
But she chose to tear me down bit by bit.
Although my ego is crushed,
Better to know now before buried in a life of regrets and mistrust,
Although I am hurt to the core,
I know there is someone out there for me who is not shallow and insecure.
