(Toast to growing old)
The following poem is for a daughter, a son, a sibling or a friend and you can send it to them on their birthday (especially their 18th or 21st birthday).

__________

A year older.
A year bolder.
I pray that your heart never grows colder.

When we look back over all the years we often lose sight of who we are today.

But don't be carried over by the years -
Carry the years over.

Don't let Peer Pressure pressure you into doing what your peers do but press that pressure to convince your peers that they can overcome that queer pressure too.

When choosing a cup to drink from ask yourself this...
Were you ever really thirsty to begin with ?
Or have you become that which you drink from ?

I know you got dreams - we all do
But dreams are just dreams if you don't give them the wheels to roll on.

I know you got Dreams - we all do
And as much as it takes one day to dream it,
It might take maybe a decade to make those dreams a reality, so keep chasing.

Don't let your aspirations sit in for long in that pretty little head.
Nurture them,
Teach them how to crawl,
Teach them how to walk and eventually show them the way to the door - Let them go,
Yes let them grow out !

Step outside of your head and defy gravity.

Everybody be wishing you a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY !"
But truth be told, Happy doesn't always lie on the other side of your birthdays,
You're growing old and I guess that too you should be told.

The journey...
