I am not a Shanta Clauz
I am not a Shanta Clauz, that's for sure,
No boots for me to wear in the snow,
No ho ho hos, no presents to bestow.

But I do have love, which is pure,
A heart that beats with tenderness and care,
A soul that believes in the magic we share.

I am not a Shanta Clauz, it's true,
No reindeers to guide my sleigh through the night,
No chimney to climb down, out of sight.

But I do have loss, like all of you,
The ache of a heart that's been torn apart,
The longing for the ones who've left a mark.

I am not a Shanta Clauz, I confess,
No elves to help me in my workshop of dreams,
No sleigh bells ringing, or so it seems.

But I do have time, which I must address,
Moments that slip through my fingers like sand,
Reminding me to cherish what I have at hand.

I am not a Shanta Clauz, it's plain to see,
No red suit, no white beard, no jolly laugh,
No sack full of presents, no well-worn path.

But I do have a refrain, a melody,
That echoes in my heart, year after year,
Reminding me to spread love and cheer.

So though I am not a Shanta Clauz, my friend,
I have love, loss, and time to mend,
And in these words, my love I do send.
