My Faith Died with You
I dumped my faith the moment you died
And I hope God saw how much I cried.
I hope he saw how much he broke me
When he decided to set you “free”
And I know you were struggling with the pain
but at that moment I needed someone to blame.
So there God stood as I threw my stones,
And took my beating from his throne.
I pelted my king with rocks, committing treason
and I didn’t even have a real reason.
Everyone dies, but it wasn’t your time.
So him taking you was a crime.
And criminals must be persecuted
So he took my stones as I executed
And with every stone I threw,
bits of my faith died too.
So here I am, even more alone
all because I threw the stones.
