An explosion within my chest
Triggered by thoughts of unrest
Feel the heart as it begins to break
Chest muscles constrict and ache
Pressure builds restricting my breath
Severity of pain induces wish for death
This emotion suspended in time
Life never lived taken before its prime
Time passes not diluting what I feel
Tragedy remembered at times surreal
A pain that I keep so not to forget
Choices made leave me with regret
Loss that I never wanted to face
