Rebirth
#WritcoPoemPrompt12
Let her sleep deep,
Let us not weep,
For she is at her journey’s end,
Left with no memories to mend.
Her skin pale and cool to the touch,
I know that I will miss her so much.
Immersed by the thought of where we go,
Something that we all must not know.
Where do we go when we depart from this earth?
The soul takes off only to start a new birth.
I look down at her frail body,
Death awaits ready to embody.
Let me place my hand upon hers,
This is life's dreadful curse.
I lay my head down on her chest,
For right now I cannot unrest.
Her heartbeat so sluggish and faint,
Soon she will be known as a beautiful saint.
Let her sleep deep,
Let us not weep,
For she is at her journey’s end,
Left with no memories to mend.
Her skin pale and cool to the touch,
I know that I will miss her so much.
Immersed by the thought of where we go,
Something that we all must not know.
