It has been whispering to me all these years,

So here's the thing,
We might want to move on from a bad relationship with someone we loved,
Try and convince ourselves that they've hurt us enough,
The mind might be convinced but not the heart,
As it never wavers in it's choice.
You feel like you've moved on,
But see yourself running back to that person when they return.

The Heart Wants What It Wants,
You lost something precious doesn't mean it's gone,
You claim to have moved on, doesn't mean your past has been forgotten,
On the verge of convincing yourself to move on,
Your heart makes you develop cold feet on your decision.

The Heart Wants What It Wants,
It is sophisticated and somewhat stubborn,
People who tried, failed repeatedly to fight their emotions,
And those you went against it were fallen,
All because "The Heart Wants What It Wants"
