Valley of the Shadows of Life
#WritcoPoemPrompt48
Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.
Life; one would think that it's easy, glide through like it's a dream
Joy profound, Love and it feels like though the sun would never set
But it's indeed a nightmare of despair, the smile on my face... a mask hiding the anguish...can't you hear my screams?
Heartbreak, disappointments, and pain... it's like free-falling with no safety net
I need a break from it all, each day feels like I'm losing my mind into oblivion
Not suicidal, but my lips tremble as I ask for strength and grace to carry on.
