I held on
To a love that was already dead and done
before my awareness was slim to none
Galavanting joyously
blind to the truth.
Wasting days months and years of my youth.
the words were strewn about
Emotions evoking some feelings so dark
Then my world was shattered when he said with a convicted tone, I don’t love you anymore
Remember when the world seemed like there was so much more for us in store. A future that could have been shining so bright, has been extinguished, maybe it happens when a connection like ours burns too bright,
Like you did in my eyes- there would have never been a man who could come close to fitting their foot in your shoes
That’s the trouble with love,
I hold on,
with a death grip
to a vision of what I thought was love; doesn’t exist-
a reality thats got me up at night, aimlessly wandering around
searching endlessly
for what feels right.
I thought that I had finally found the person who was worthy of me actually sticking it through to the end.
That person is you,
or so I thought.
