The Beauty In Her Death
They said an angel died last night and that her wings were bent and bloody
I went to see for myself, naturally .

"It was horrid",they'd said,
I found that to be a lie
Did they say she was dead?
she looks more alive than I
And her blood
It is not an ugly red that gushes from her torn skin,
It is vibrant and harmonious
unlike any color I've ever seen .

I looked at her wings they said were broken and mangled,
But all I saw was delicacy
and art in the way the feathers were entangled .

I saw daisies shed their petals to make a halo around her head,
I saw tulips grow out of concrete;life emerging from something dead.

My eyes have seen the worst of humanity,
The bad,the ugly, and our conciete and vanity
I don't even know what it must feel like to live pure,
To learn to ignore this wretched world's allure .

So,what I am saying is, she managed to die pure and in beauty,
While I wasted away and lived under a cloud of blasphemy.
