Behind closed eyes
The moon remains undisturbed,
By the chaos of the cosmos,
It reflects light through the darkness of space,
Onto the shoreline along the straits,
Revealing where the waves had left their last trace.
When the water is at its stillest,
I close my eyes and listen,
To the sand settling beneath the sea,
As the shadow of a nearby tree,
Grows beyond its fallen leaves,
The universe is right here,
Between these four walls,
And as I shut my eyes and open my heart,
That is when I finally embark,
On my journey into the unknown dark.
