Those Days
Gone are those days
Where we played with clay
Watched the waves go away
Missing that today
Gone are those days
Where everything we knew
Was fun and games
Like hide-n-seek and crew
Gone are those days
When we never heard of struggles
Only jumping in puddles
And blowing out bubbles
Gone are those days
When eating ice cream was an award
With every melted drop
Becoming a record
Gone are those days
When our paintings were framed
All our dances a display
Only to be giggled at today
Gone are those days
When we felt like growing up
Not knowing what's on
The other side of the cup
But, those were the days
When afternoon naps were okay
Reading books about fairies
And ballet
Those were the days
That we could play without worries
'Cause completing homework
Was no hurry
That was our childhood
Which will be remembered by the firewood
That was our mini-version
Talking to it's older person.
