A Lullaby
Sing me a lullaby,
Stop me asking why.
I'm sick with envy,
My heart's too heavy.

I dislike this bitter taste,
Undertaking things in haste.
All I seem to track,
Is all the things I lack.

I build up my towers,
Putting in the hours.
Living day by day,
Just stumbling on what to say.

Trying to cover these scars,
Looking outward to the stars.
Clinging to the ambition,
But uncertain of my position.

It doesn't happen for me,
No matter how hard I plea.
It's an empty hole,
Something I can't console.

So, sing me a lullaby,
Grant me a reason to try.
