The Swallow and the Sparrow: A Song of Departure
I sing of you, departing swallow.
I sing of your swift wings and your journey to distant lands.
And I sing of you, lingering sparrow.
I sing of your tiny chirps as you peck at the last grains of summer.
This is my song, a song of departure,
it soars high in the sky with the swallow,
and yet remains on the ground with the sparrow.
Sometimes I echo the song of the wanderer,
other times the song of the one who stays behind.
