Sometimes life can feel so hard
The hurdles keep getting bigger and taller
It feels like we’re throwing rocks in a pond
And the waves keep growing bigger and wider

Standing still it's hard to make headway
Everywhere you look there's an obstacle in the way
Life never takes a break and keeps rolling
It's like a boulder that won't stop rolling

It can feel like a never ending quest
Trying to make a way, back to the nest
It's hard to make it through the mountains and valleys
The walls seem to close in, and it can get so tangled

The obstacles take their toll
And seem to never end,
Even when we think we're in control
The endless twists and turns never wend

It’s hard to be confident, with so much pressure to perform
The tears keep streaming, and it keeps feeling so deformed
Our hearts feel heavy, and the pain won’t go away
Our dreams feel shattered, and our hands have nothing to play

When we feel overwhelmed and the hopes are so low
We need to find a way to cope with the undertow
We must take what life gives, and try not to grieve
Perhaps if we look to the future then hope just might weave

It can be hard, but don’t give up
Sometimes small steps are enough
Life is a marathon, so pace yourself and go
For one day you can take back what you thought you'd never know

Lifes hard, and that’s just the start
But know, it will turn around and make you feel a part
We need these obstacles to keep us strong
And build us up in a way nothing else can

So when life knocks you down, stand up tall
Expect the best but always be prepared for the fall
For the setbacks will come and go
Be brave, and accept what life does show

And when it's all said and done,
Looking back it will make sense
As we’ll be stronger and more wise
Ready to tackle it again and finding our own advice

Life will be hard but it’s something we can overcome
And when we finally do, we’ll feel like we’ve won
It’s a long hard journey, but it’s something we must face
And with patience, and time, we'll get back in the race.
