Road Trips
Blue-sky highway, twist and turn,
Daisies left, wild flowers right,
Fluffy clouds and butterflies-
Think I'll drive straight through the night.
Watch my sun set fire horizons,
'til our luminous moon
makes it dark no more.
Shine my soul, it sings sweet melodies:
these gas station grooves, the junk-food binge
with wrappers crumpled, chaos on the floor.
Painted toes stick out the window; the air goes flying past, and this time, I know,
it passes by us way too fast!
Morning blushes at us now,
She sees what we've become:
Rebels, rockstars, revelers,
Bound to nowhere, braking for no one.
Staring into love-struck eyes,
Burn away remaining shame,
We drive our road again by day,
and always live this life our way.
