Note to Self
To the dad who never got to know his son.
Difficult isn’t the first word that I would use to describe growing up without you.
I’m not sure exactly when or how it happened. The reasons as to why we didn’t have a relationship used to be a lot more defined. Perhaps they were.
A series of decisions were made, for a plethora of reasons.
What was once an exhibition of strength eventually morphed into pain.
The Path offered is not always the one taken. The haven of shelter and safety can often disguise the hurt inside oneself.
