Farewell Old Year
Oh, old year, you have been a faithful friend.
I am sad that our time together has come to an end.
Through this time, you witness moments of laughter and tears,
And even those cringing and
nail-biting ones of fear,
All tales that will echo throughout the years.
Oh, old year, you wore countless masks,
Each one was a different shade of colour.
Some were bright, happy and full of heartfelt joy,
Whilst others were challenging, difficult, and deeply sad.
Old year, old friend, you willingly brought me through it all.
The lessons learnt from this year will remain in my soul.
They will help me as I age and grow old.
Forever, I hold the memories we made as midnight draws near.
And so with gratitude, I bid farewell to you, my dearest friend, Old Year.
