Three years ago today, I made a big change
back at a time when my life was so strange
I gave up drinking and smoking for a while
three years later, you could still see me smile.
I was in darkness when I drank & I smoked
each and everyday, I was still being provoked
but then I had enough & I made a big change
yet this time around, I don't feel so strange.
After three years and I'm fighting for my life
I got clean and sober for me and my wife
it's been a long time since I last had a drink
with me being sober, I have the power to think.
I'm clean and sober and I'm feeling so good
I'm living my life and doing things I should
it's a brand new day and l'm seeing the stars
knowing that my dreams will soon take me far.
