The Last Cry
In the suffocating darkness of that forsaken alley,
A solitary tear slithered down her cheek—
It was not the same,
For it was the final, desperate plea for salvation,
And the last flicker of hope was
extinguishing in the abyss.

She lay there, cold and stripped of dignity,
Her body a cruel testament to brutality,
Silent now, numb to the relentless agony.
She had long surrendered to her grim destiny—
Crushed by the faceless demons
Or perhaps her own soul's betrayal.

Death, once a distant specter,
Was now a looming certainty.
She awaited its frigid embrace,
For the world she had once loved
Had revealed its cruel and monstrous face.

Her anguished cries
Echoed in the void, unheard by her tormentors.
As her breath grew faint,
Her only wish was for one thing;
That no other soul
Should be condemned to the
suffering she endured.
In the end, death alone offered a hand of mercy.
