I'm ready,
I'm ready to experience love in it's fullest form
The nights out, the indoor date nights
Playing arcade games, or binge watch a series I hated at first, but get sucked in it, cause' you love it
Removing the crust from your eye in the morning or waking up and receiving ten beeps from my phone, in the form of messages from you
Having a meal with your and my parents, having cookouts with the family,
A healthy love
A faithful love, where insecurities and traumas are embraced
One where we hold each other's hands in the heaviest of moments
A love where my shoulder is your favorite place of comfort
A space where arguments can be resolved without tearing each other down,
That even the craziest of moments, the love we share trumps the squabble we may have at present
And ultimately, a love that chooses each other every day

For many, this may sound like a fever dream, something you watch on subscription television
But I've seen enough love in my young life to be convinced that a love like that does exist, and that every once in a while, dreams do come true
The romantic in me, cannot help to believe it, cause' what else is my alternative?
Polygamy, flings, multiple sex partners?
Never has my heart been open to that, and I doubt it ever will
So until this love knocks on my door, I will continue to carefully work on and prepare myself for everything that comes with it,
Cause it's been a long time coming,
Lord knows how much I will be grateful for it when it arrives and actually, chooses to stay
