Maybe there's a
Rock
Somewhere in this
World
That makes the
Waves crash,
And the sea
Cry out
In sorrow.
And maybe,
If the rock disappeared,
Then the waters
Would be as still as
The day
Jesus
Calmed the storm.
I remember
Meeting that rock
One day
(Not a jewel,
Not a diamond,
Just a plain
Old rock),
And seeing how
Big, and
Strong, and
Mighty it was.
It seemed
As though
Even the
Wind and the
Water
Could not
Tear it apart.
But years later,
I found this rock
Yet again,
And I saw
How much
Smaller and
Weaker the
Rock had gotten.
I realized then
That
One day
The world
May not turn,
And the waves
May not crash,
And the silence
May be unbearable,
But the memories
Will always
Be there.
