The other day,
A man walked down the next street trying to cross the road
I heard him say, "abaana bananywa obujji"
I couldn't laugh at the
Seeing a smart grown up man with sweat all over his face
I guess he had moved a long distance from work where he sought for what he could bring back as his daily toil in a black polythene bag that, didn't work out that day.
I'm trying to figure out
How blood was moving rapidly in his veins like waterfalls
only to fulfill a statement;
that a man shall eat out of his toils
remember
he's not the only one at home with a mouth
At least he got 2 or more dependants that have to eat four meals a day
Including a grown up woman he calls wife but sometimes he ends up calling her mom when she gets too serious on bad days
She don't wanna know if it didn't workout for you or how you got to put the food on table
But she has to ask why you got so late that day when you were standing somewhere, trying to kill time so that you get home when the kids are already asleep.
Hey ladies, daughters and mothers,
if you only see what they got through, striked by the heat of the sun, soaked on a wet day but came back home so smart to hide their stress that rolls like sweat painfully like thoughts of, " how will my family be the next day",
