It's either of the two.
Just try to put yourselves
In her painfully beautiful shoes.
She's doing it for herself.
She's doing it to survive,
Just trying to stay alive.

Even if it meant
That she should torment
Her own body with scars and burns
Through plastic surgery and never return.
Spending her cents, just to be broken and bent.

All while hiding her pain,
Cause, well, what would she gain?
From unlocking her heart
And exposing her wounds,
When she knows they'll discard
And leave her again soon.

Every tale has an end,
Yet she remains a mystery.
She could be a foe or friend,
Someone that lives in misery.

Maybe an artist, scientist or poet,
Someone who doesn't really show it.
Even if they're smiling and seem happy,
You won't be able to know just how lonely,
It is being a so called True Beauty,
When deep down, you're just a phony.
