Voice, calling my name into the night?
You pull me up from the waters of almost-slumber.
I look behind me as though you were really there,
So vivid is this ghost of mind.

Who are you —
Whisper, disturbing my soul from its peace?
You shiver me out from my dreamy stupor.
I bite the reply from my tongue-tip,
So tangible are your sharp reverberations.
