INDEPENDENT BUT DEPENDENT
Nigeria my country,
independent but dependent,
never rise yet falling.
How thou deprived of fancy-free?
Why half joy, full sorrow?
Few are joyous, many are suffering.

Nigeria my country,
full of nepotism,
gabble to confuse,
roaring like lion,
act like ant,
for it strangle the subjects.

Nigeria my country,
sleeping in distress,
settle in euphoria,
infants dreams sabotage,
older in service,
nothing but fantasy.

Nigeria my country,
sixty (60) but stinking,
peace is afar,
subjects sacrifice for peace,
enemies rise within a state,
killing for joy, pretending to be saviour.

Nigeria my country,
kakistocracy lies for kleptomania.
quarrel to see, reconcile secretly,
majority gnashing,
where they derive joy.

Nigeria my country,
where is thy freedom?
where is thy peace?
where is real independent?
where is true democracy?

Nigeria my country,
Arise, hold your freedom,
hold your peace,
bring out the colourful democracy,
enjoy your independent,
have achievement that suits your age.

Nigeria my country,
sew the old days for us,
be bless and fruitful,
full of joy and happiness,
give up on political rascality.
