At one time
I judge the wrapping from
The outside
Before, I learned what was real
Found myself crying on the inside
Later, I learned to
Unwrap the mystery
Take time to learn about possiblities

At one time, I did not feel
Hard was the surroundings
Never thought it could be safe
It was cold still
Took a leap of faith, jumped
Had little to call my own
In cards, they call it a Trump
Surviver, I am
Lessons learned, time bumped

Each day is precious
When you are loved, it's a gift
Appreciate
Granted, do not take
Try not to judge, unwrap
Inside might be a surprise
Dial the heart high
