TOMORROW
We wish we could be festive today,
But the situations around don't demand for joy,
We wish we could shout Hurray!!,
But we have no balloons nor toys.
We desire and covet the nice clothes,
But the slums here are full of rags,
We wish the rain would meet us in our nice coats,
But sunshine still leaves us with scars.
We are young and vibrant after all,
But probably that's only an assumption,
As we weren't privileged to have life easy,
Which was our utmost intention.
The world celebrates us today,
But yet we aren't merry,
We can barely feed today,
And tomorrow still seems scary.
The rich kids we do not despise, neither do we hate,
But we have become servants to Fate,
As it has fed us with a bitter pill,
And deprived us of our only skill.
Which is the innocence of our souls,
And rather it gave us one with sorrow,
So we wish our mates a happy day,
While we hope for a better tomorrow.
