Shattered Windows of Time
The mirror talks back through tight lips
Holding the knife just to see if I live
Stained glass eyes always ready to receive
Tears of sorrow between a retch and heave
Desire to be unbound from the earth
Always felt this way since before my birth
To be taken out and buried back to the earth
And take with me all that is truly of worth
Concious beings never feel the relieving
Of eternally slumbering beyond the grieving
Always giving but you are never receiving
Nothing in here is ever worth seeing
Nostrils flare as the body wears and tears
Just hoping to feel any semblance of care
Avoiding my friends and feeling so bare
Shaving my face and then cutting my hair
Anything just to feel like I’m in new places
I forget who I am as I’m forgetting their faces
Sometimes change happens when it erases
Parts of the past and present pretenses
