Despair
A blue sky,
On a blue day,
Birds flew by,
With lovely calls

Tick Tock, the clock went
As it drew nearer to the hour
I never knew
Ten o'clock would be
The Dooms hour

Boom!!
A deafening roar
Tore the silence apart

I turned to my beloved
A worried glance
Soon, what we perceived
Came to be

The hour dragged slowly
My beloved returned
With blood dripping
He smiled reassuringly

Beaten and bruised
For a crime
He never did

Alone he stood
Alone he defended himself
Against the mighty paws
His assaulters
With rifles and sticks
Tore at his clothes
To bring him down

But behold! He stood firm
With pride of a wounded lion
He held his head high
And refused to bow

The people watched
With cold glances
They sneered
Seeing the blood,
They dispersed
And the hands of time
Moved on.

I held my beloved
I tightened my lips
Stopping the tears
Stopping the pain
I gave a bright smile

I was shattered
He was battered
We were bruised
But we were happy
Life was a gift
For that, we smiled
Through our tears
We laughed, holding hands
Amidst the dripping blood...
