Hope you don't think me morbid
considering the beauty
in our endings.
That we could leave others
broken.

It is not the number of mourners
but the sorrow in their song,
the pangs of grief in chambers
they had long forgotten existed.

And, that we too could remember
the last instance we had
such depth of feeling,
emotional bleeding,
howls releasing
this grief in unison.

I would argue it is vital
we consider this consequence
of our very existence,
for we will never live to see it.
